Thermal Profile
Basic 2D Profile Design
The thermal profile is based calculated from the following function.
It is evident that temperature is a function of X and Y position where the coordinate system is originated at the geometric center of the mirror. The Thermal Constraints Toolbox of the GUI allows the user to specify a unique 2D thermal profile for each the mirror, truss, and actuators. Shown below are several example temperature profiles:
Uniform Temperature
X Gradient
XY (45°) Gradient
Uniqueness of Mirror, Truss, And Actuator Profiles.
The Thermal Constraints Toolbox of the GUI allows the user to specify a unique 2D thermal profile for the mirror, truss, and actuators. This provides the user almost endless combinations of thermal profiles. For example, the user could specify a constant actuator temperature, an X gradient truss temperature profile, and a Y gradient mirror temperature profile.
